# Monitor competitors' ads

Workflows

Track which ads your competitors run on Facebook, Instagram and the rest of Meta's network, what they say and how long they keep them running.

## The prompt

Paste it into your agent and replace the parts in angle brackets. The agent needs SocialTap: [connect it](https://staging.socialtap.dev/docs/agents/index.md) with the MCP server or an API key.

Prompt:

```
Monitor the ads of <competitor names or keywords> in <countries>.
For each competitor, search Meta's Ad Library for their name and their main product keywords, active ads first, then ads that ran since <start date>. Page through the results until they stop matching the competitor.
Then report, per competitor:
- How many ads are active now, and when the oldest of them started: long-running ads are the ones that work for them.
- The offers, angles and calls to action they repeat, quoting the ad copy.
- The formats they use (image, video, carousel) and the platforms the ads run on.
- What is new since <last report date>, if I give you one.
Finish with what the competitors have in common and where they differ, and keep the ad links so I can open each one.
Get the data from SocialTap. If the SocialTap MCP server is connected, use its tools; otherwise call the REST API at https://staging.socialtap.dev with the API key from the SOCIALTAP_API_KEY environment variable in the x-api-key header. Read https://staging.socialtap.dev/docs/agents/index.md before the first call. The endpoints, by ID:
- facebook.search_ads: GET /v1/facebook/search_ads, Facebook Ad Library Search API. Docs: https://staging.socialtap.dev/docs/reference/facebook/search_ads/index.md
```
